White Sands, NM

This is White Sands National Monument. It is located north Las Cruces, NM. In the middle of nowhere, just suddenly, there is a huge extension of white sand.

The sand is formed by some sort of calcium with other things. In the little valleys between the dunes there are some plants because it is wet and there are marks of water, so I suppose from time to time there are small lakes in between the dunes.
It is a really cool and strange place. In the middle of nowhere there was this tree and this huge white rock.

The park is in an army base, more precisely, in a missile range (they test things around here). So sometimes is closed to the public. We did the largest trail in the park, a loop of four miles: white sand around us all the time, just that.

This is the road once you entered the park to go the heart of the dunes and begin the loop of more than four miles.

One of the most impressive things I have ever seen. There is also a salt lake at the south of the white sands, but it is not open to the public. All this was covered by the sea long long time ago.
